Individual highlights: Luis Suarez’s frustrating afternoon (Liverpool-Norwich)
“I’ll say something but won’t add to it. People question Luis Suraez’s integrity and it’s their integrity that needs to be questioned, not his. On the football pitch he is exemplary. He’s a fantastic footballer, we’ve got 100 per cent faith in Luis Suarez and the way he conducts himself.” – Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish.
Just a week after the Patrice Evra racism spat occupied many headlines following Liverpool’s draw with Manchester United, Luis Suarez was once again in the thick of it against Norwich.
Another 1-1 draw has done little for Liverpool’s top 4 hopes but Suarez once again showed that if the Merseyside giants are to challenge again, the Uruguay striker will be leading the charge.
Suarez had a total of 11 shots on goal against Norwich which is the most in a single Premier League game in 2011/2012. Opta Joe also tell us that there have been 38 instances this season of a Premier League team totalling fewer shots in a game than Luis Suárez’s 11 for Liverpool v Norwich on Saturday afternoon.
The former Ajax striker hit the post twice, once in each half for Liverpool, saw a late effort brilliantly saved by John Ruddy and was also involved in a diving incident with Marc Tierney that is not on the video below.
